Comparison Request between Fairleigh, Alicia and Tilly

Hi Friends

A quick comparison request between Fairleigh, Tilly and Alicia.

Left to right Fairleigh, Tilly and Alicia, no dupes, you can really see the purple tone in Fairleigh, Tilly doesnt have the holo sparkle glitters that Fairleigh does, Alicia is more like Tilly but she has that super strong golden shimmer flash and is not a texture finish.

Lat pics are cat tax, the furkids had to be confined to the conservatory and catio as we were having a bit of work done in our ensuite.  When they were released back into the house Obi needed some major fussing. Normally they avoid my office as its always dark and they cant see out the windows.

Zoya Amaris Comparison

Hi Friends

I was asked a while ago about how Amaris would compare to Lennon and whether they were similar, as on the website they looked very very close. I am happy to report we dont have any dupes.

As you can see below, Lennon has a green/aqua undertone, Amaris is a denim blue and Jean has a periwinkle lean. Amaris also has way more holographic sparkle.

First pic is under my LED light, second pic is in natural day light, its quite gloomy here today.

Comparison Request

Hi Friends

Today I'm sharing some extra comparisons that a reader requested.

So we have Precious compared to Patrice and Wanda.  The other comparison is Jean and Alice.

Pics were taken in natural light and only cropped and watermarked.

First up we have left to right Precious, Patrice and Wanda, no dupes, in fact I'd almost say Precious is a mix of Patrice and Wanda. The swatches all are two coats each.

Next is Jean and Alice, no dupes, Jean is much deeper in tone and they are different finishes.

Rose Palette Bottle and Swatch Stick Comparisons

 Hey Friends

Today I'm sharing my comparisons for the Rose Palette, I only managed to get these on Thursday, I ordered as soon as they were in stock on Nail Polish Direct.

This set consists of 5 polishes that are in the pink/red family, their names are as follows:-

Palmer
Marcia
Maggie
Rochelle
Suzie

These all had perfect formula, no running or pooling while painting the swatch sticks and all were opaque in two coats. They all also stamp too.

As with all my comparisons, the new polish is always first left and the photos are taken in day, it was very over cast on Saturday when the photos were taken, I do not colour adjust my photos either, if something doesnt photograph correctly I will point it out. What I will say about these polishes is that they all have different tones and undertones. Now enough waffling, lets see some pics!

First off the stamping test, top row is the Rose Palette, bottom row is the Sunset Palette, I'll be doing a separate blog post for the Sunset Palette.

L to R Palmer, Sweet, Tweedy and Shelby, no dupes, Palmer has the peachy undertone like Sweet but is deeper in tone.

L to R Marcia, Cory, Natalie and Lana, no dupes, Marcia has such an interesting undertone, Lana on the end is an orange polish, Cory and Natalie are browns, so you can see that orange undertone in Marica but theres also a pink element to her.

L to R Maggie, Monroe and Dawn, this one was tricky, no dupes, Maggie has a hint of purple or blue, Monroe and Dawn are pinks with red undertones.

L to R Rochelle, Pepper and Lisa, no dupes Rochelle is a slightly lighter version of Pepper, the difference was more apparent in real life.

L to R Suzie, Paris (the original ZP391) and Cola, this is the closest to a dupe I found, however, Paris is a discontinued polish so if you dont own it, grab Suzie, she reminds me of chocolate covered cherries.

I hope you enjoyed seeing my comparisons, did I miss a Zoya out that you think might be closer? let me know in the comments and I'll see if I own it and compare them.

A Zoya A Day - Tiffany

Hey Friends

Today on the blog we meet Tiffany

Available on USA website - No
Available on the UK website - No
Brush used - Original
Does it stamp - No
Name - Tiffany
Year - 2010
Number - ZP0531
Coats - 3
Finish - Metallic
Collection - Fire and Ice
Colour - Orange/Coral
Topcoat - No

Tiffany is a discontinued polish from Zoya, I'd describe it as a peachy coral orange base with golden shimmer sparkles.

This has a good formula, no running or pooling, its just sheer so I did three coats for opacity. I really wish this was not so sheer as I like the colour, maybe I'll try and find an under colour for it. This also has a pink undertone its quite an unusual colour. In the hand swatch the first pic is in natural light then the second is under my LED, and then a comparison with Nadia from yesterday to see how pinky coral Tiffany is. I own the full Fire and Ice collection, theyre all really gorgeous!

A Zoya A Day - Mitzi

Hey Friends

Today on the blog we meet Mitzi

Available on USA website - No
Available on the UK website - No
Brush used - Original
Does it stamp - No
Name - Mitzi
Year - 2011
Number - ZP0559
Coats - 3
Finish - Matte
Collection - Mod Mattes
Colour - Yellow/Lime
Topcoat - No

Mitzi is a discontinued polish from Zoya, I would describe it as a pale chartreuse yellow. When this set came out it was limited edition, I was extremely! lucky to find a mini set that had only been swatched once or twice.

I've swatched this on my thumb only as its a mini bottle, the formula on this is not good, it dries very fast meaning its almost impossible to get it on your nails without streaks. I did two thick coats with the minimum of brush strokes  I have worn this in a full mani once as I wanted to test the formula myself. I'm also not sure if my bottle has faded ever so slightly...? Actually its not the bottle thats faded its the actual swatch thats changed colour. I also popped topcoat on half my nail so you could see what that looked like.

You can see it has more green than Bekka.

Reading reviews seems this was the trickiest of the three because of the high yellow content.

Name - Temperance
Year - 2015
Number - ZP8102R
Coats - 2
Finish - Shimmer
Collection - Limited Edition
Colour - Grey
Topcoat - No

Temperance by Zoya can be described as a cool medium gray with a pink shimmer.

I'd say the shimmer is more magenta than a pink or its a dark pink, good formula, no running or pooling and opaque in two coats.

This is one I wish they had decided to add to their permanent range, pink and grey is a great combo.  I like that the shimmer shows up. This name reminds me of the heroine Temperance Brennan from the Kathy Reiches books .

Vickie by Zoya can be best described as a buildable, milky gray jelly.

This is from the Kisses mini collection which was three jelly polishes, this has a good formula, no running or pooling and I did two coats. Fourth pic shows three coats and its opaque, notice the purple hint it has on the nails.

Today is the one year anniversary of having to say goodbye to my Rosie cat, she was my squeaky baby and I miss her, I've added a video of her, showing off her flop abilities with purring and dushing.

Does it stamp - No
Name - Harley
Year - 2009
Number - ZP0468
Coats - 2
Finish - Metallic
Collection - Twist
Colour - Silver/Grey
Topcoat - No

Harley by Zoya can be best described as a light concrete gray with subtle flecks of silver, gold and copper shimmer.

This is stunning, I dont see the gold or copper shimmer in the bottle or on the nail though, gorgeous formula, no running or pooling and opaque in two coats.

In the second pic the nails on the right are most colour accurate, this is a bit of a chameleon polish and can look like it has a blue undertone in some lights. Its also less brush strokey in real life.

A Zoya A Day - Seraphina

  Hey Friends

Today on the blog we meet Seraphina

Available on USA website - Yes
Available on the UK website - Yes
Brush used - Original
Does it stamp - No
Name - Seraphina
Year - 2013
Number - ZP0689
Coats - 2
Finish - Metallic
Collection - Zenith
Colour - Silver/Grey
Topcoat - No

Seraphina can best be described as a full-coverage, Polaris silver metallic, well thats an interesting description, what is a Polaris silver?

This is quite an unusual colour, its a jelly grey base with silver micro glitter and I think there's white micro glitter in their too, good formula, no running or pooling and opaque in two coats.

Third pic, could Ellie be any cuter?! Had a laugh this morning, I went to go do my run but the long pants I chose are actually too big to run in so I came in and switched to my shorts, I did my run and I came in and hubs said now I believe you about Obi, I said oh what did you catch him doing, he said I came outta my office and he was rolling around on the floor with your trousers, I said I told you! he's obsessed with my clothing, he loves to paw it.

A Zoya A Day - Bar

Hey Friends

Today on the blog we meet Bar

Available on USA website - Yes
Available on the UK website - No
Brush used - Original
Does it stamp - No
Name - Bar
Year - 2014
Number - ZP0761
Coats - 2
Finish - Pixie Dust
Collection - Summer Pixie
Colour - Gold/Nude
Topcoat - No

Bar by Zoya can be best described as a glittery nude topaz in the best-selling ultra textured, matte, holographic Magical Pixie formula.

The magical pixie's are the ones with lots of larger hex glitters, so even denser than Levi. This has a good formula, no running or pooling (way too much texture to run or pool) and opaque in two coats, because they have way more glitter than the usual pixie's they're a tiny bit more difficult to remove  as with any glitter.

The last picture shows, (L to R) Tomoko, Levi and Bar, hopefully you can see the different textures, Tomoko is the original pixie, then Levi is an Ultra Pixie and finally Bar is a Magical Pixie.

A Zoya A Day - Godiva

Hey Friends

Well if you watched the Formula One race yesterday it was crazy, lots of thrills and spills, thankfully everyone was fine if probably a little stiff today.

Today on the blog we meet Godiva

Godiva by Zoya can be best described as a soft nude with a sugared sparkle, in the exclusive Zoya PixieDust - Textured Matte Sparkle formula.

One of my fav, if I dont know what to wear to something polishes, its nude so understated but you still get that lush sparkle, great formula, no running or pooling and opaque in two coats.

A Zoya A Day - Brighton

Hey Friends

Its another Formula One race weekend and we're somewhere F1 hasnt been before, theyre racing at Mugello in Italy which is normally a MotoGP track, hopefully a good race.

Today on the blog we meet Brighton

Available on USA website - Yes
Available on the UK website - No
Brush used - Original
Does it stamp - No
Name - Brighton
Year - 2018
Number - ZP0883
Coats - 3
Finish - Holo
Collection - Bridal Bliss
Colour - Gold/Nude
Topcoat - No

Brighton by Zoya can best be described as a full coverage, diamond holographic soft nude.

One of Zoya's famous scattered holos, I own them all and they are all stunning, gorgeous formula, no running or pooling, sheer so it took three coats for opacity but they were easy coats.  I really hope we see more colours in this finish, I would kill for a yellow and orange version.
