PoP Polish Tri-Thermals

PoP Polish aka The Power of Polish aka Bianca Samantha owner, is an indie nail polish brand based in the USA. She's one of the most unique indie brands I've come across, she has amazing multi chromes that she calls Oil Slicks which they are, so shifty.

Today for you I have some of her new Tri-Thermals. Normally thermals are one colour when cold and one when hot, Bianca and others have now come up with polishes that have 3 colour changes, hot, warm and cold.  I'm wearing The Haunted Forest today but my hands are so cold I can only see the cold state, its 3 degrees here in the UK at the moment.

First up is She-Devil a dark plumy pink (cold) to red toned med pink (warm) to a bright neon pink (hot). This is also jam packed with sparkly goodness, I didnt wear topcoat with She-Devil so you could see the finish which is matte but with sparkle, almost like a pixie dust from Zoya but a lot less gritty.

Next up is my favourite so far and thats called By The Pale Moonlight which is a dark blue toned purple (cold) to a red toned purple (warm) and finally to a bright grass green (hot).  These all had great formula and were opaque in two coats. These are so unusual I grabbed all of the ones I could from Rainbow Connection UK an amazing UK indie seller.  I am waiting on a restock as I did miss a couple of the thermals as they sold out very quickly. I am wearing topcoat in these pictures so you can see how it looks shiny, the sparkle stands out really well.

If you are on the lookout for unusual polishes or finishes I highly recommend PoP Polish, she's also the lady behind the pastel oil slick multi chromes.

Some Nail Art, Work Appropriate and Halloween Inspired

Today on the blog I have some Halloween nails and some chic nude nails that would work in an office environment.

First up the chic nudes,  I started with a base of Zoya Diem, this is a pale creamy nude with an iridescent sparkle that you can see in the bottle but it doesnt really show up on the nail :( the formula was good, no pooling or running and opaque in 2 easy coats.

I then stamped using Zoya Madeline with the Uberchic Plaid plate, this plate is so fun as you can layer your won plaids or use a ready made ones.

Continues after the pics

Then I decided I fancied some Halloween nails.  Iwent with a base of PoP Polish Pumpkin Patch a gorgeous orange holo which was opaque in 2 easy coats again a great formula, no pooling or running.

I then stamped using Revlon Stiletto and Powder Perfect Halloween plate, Stiletto is my fav stamping black, its discontinued but I managed to find 2 bottles in a discount store while I was visiting Northern Ireland.  My topcoat for these was the Love Angeline Topped with Love topcoat which is very quick drying and super shiny, sadly this is another discontinued brand and I only have two bottles of this topcoat left.

I adore the stamping plate, those little twirly bats are soo cute! I also apologise for the cat hair in the thumb shot, if you live with cats you kow its impossible to keep cat hair away from anything.

Zoya Edyta and Loredana

Today on the blog I have two very unusual shades.

Loredana is one of the original Matte Velvets that Zoya came out with in 2009, this would have been an easy one coater but this polish dries so fast that I mucked up the application, both this and Harlow dry very fast and you have to load up your brush and float the coat on with as little brush strokes as possible.

Edyta now this is very strange, I do not know how Zoya manage to do this but its another weird chameleon shade it looks brown, grey, green and gold all at the same time. This was a very good formula opaque in 2 coats.  Edyta came from the 2010 Wicked collection for fall.

I have to thank Walker over at Olive Ave Nails on youtube for a shout out and her haul for making me pull out Edyta to wear. Do check out her channel she love vegan and cruelty free nail polish, link below :)

Zoya Rachel and Margo

Today for your polish pleasure I have Rachel and Margo.

Rachel is a deep dark red with a purple undertone, this was almost opaque in one coat but I had a couple of slight bald spots so did a second coat. I think with use this will be a one coater.

Margo is a purple with a red undertone, again this had a great formula no pooling or running and it was almost opaque in one coat, I just had a couple of lighter spots so did 2 coats, I also think this will be a one coater in the future.

Zoya Alyssa & Dominique

Today on the blog I have two stunning red beauties that are Alyssa and Dominique.

Dominique is from the Provocateur collection from 2005, this is a bright red with a brown undertone giving it an orange look. This was opaque in just one sweet coat, it went exactly where I put it, no running or pooling at all. Perfection!

Alyssa is from the new Element collection for Autumn or Fall as the Americans say is from 2018, this is a dark plum toned red again perfect formula opaque in one sweet coat no pooling or running.

Both of these were super shiny on their own. I apologise for the state of the label on Dominique, the label was very faded and hard to read and I tried to add the name.  The side by side picture is of Sookie on the right a true toned red to show you the brown undertone of Dominique.  Sookie is also a one coater.

I also spent today adding the collections years to my spread sheet of Zoya I own, so that I can keep track of what I've worn, colour family etc.

Zoya Cinnamon, Cola, Leighton and Monica

Today on the blog I have swatches of some Zoya for you plus if you like wax melts I have an awesome maker for you too.

I've had to change my set up for viewing my laptop, I have a 13inch macbook pro but due to deteriorating eyesight I can no longer view the screen so my hubs has been very kind and set me up with a 20 inch screen he had spare, mac keyboard and mouse from his macmini and I now have a kind of desktop set up. I'm on the look out for a larger screen as the 20 inch is still a little small for my liking but for now it working a treat.

So our polishes for today are some stunning autumn themed ones.

I have Cola who is a very warm red toned brown, great formula, opaque in 2 coats.

With Cola I wore the amazing Cinnamon who was the perfect formula and opaque in one sweet coat, this is stunning, a gorgeous coppery brown shimmer, with mani I also stamped some leaves using Uberchic lovely leaves plate and Virago Varnish Nauseating. The last picture is a shot of Pepper and Cola, they are different Cola is much lighter in colour and has a much redder undertone.

Keep reading after the pics I got more, this is quite a long post!

So after Cinnamon and Cola I decided on a couple of vampy purples, I have a lot of campy reds and purples but for some reason I rarely wear them :( I must change this as there are some serious stunners out there and the two I picked out were Leighton and Monica.

Ah Monica why did it take me so long to wear you, she is amazing a dusty dark vampy purple with a grey undertone opaque in one sweet coat with the perfect formula, no running or pooling and went exactly were I put it.

The theres Leighton, she is an almost black purple, again a perfect formula in one sweet coat, no running or pooling, I had to be super careful in applying this as clean up can be tricky with such a dark colour.  I would say this is a brighter purple than the iconic Lincoln Park After Dark by OPI with a bluer undertone also. Infact let me go grab the swatch sticks and take some pictures!

The difference in these two is much more apparent in person, sadly my phone wasnt great at getting a good shot, oh well.

This shot is me holding a bottle of Zoya Willa a pure black, hopefully you can see that Leighton is purple :)

Now for the wax vendor, I love wax melts as you can change your fragrance as often as you like, in the summer we'd taken a road trip to Tissington in Derbyshire, this is the cutest little village you will ever see! It has an amazing vintage sweet shop, a cafe and On A Wick and A Prayer candle and wax melt shop, which is an Aladdins cave of all things candles, wax and if you need some plates or cups they also do ceramics.  Their wax melts come in a 100g bar shaped like a chocolate bar which when broken up gives you 24 chunks of heaven all for only £2.99 which is amazing value for money, I only picked up a couple of bars while I was there because I didnt know how good they'd be, the instructions say brake 2 or 3 pieces off and put them in your burner and off you go, I got Hot Toddy and Woodsmoke burning first and wow they smelled amazing but also the throw was really great, the 2 little bits I used kept their smell for 4 days before I had to change it and this was burning a tea light every day for 4 hours at a time.

Check them out if you love wax melts like I do :)

Zoya Yuna, Gardner & Isa

Today on the blog I have a couple of Zoya blues for you.

First up is Gardner a almost cornflower blue metallic with blue and pink shimmers, perfect formula, opaque in two coats.

Next up the stunning Isa again a cobalt blue metallic with bright blue shimmers, perfect formula opaque in two coats.

Last but not least is Yuna a very unusual blue toned grey, this is another of Zoya's odd colours, if you put it with greys it looks blue, you put it with the blues and it looks grey.

Gruesome Graveyard Nails

Today on the blog I took part in another challenge on Instagram.

The prompt was Gruesome Graveyard, so I went with a thermal polish that is black when cold and blood red when warm, Prism Polishes Vamp, which is opaque in one easy coat.

I then stamped using Powder Perfect Halloween plate using Revlon Stiletto which is my favourite black for stamping with.

I then topped with PoP Polish Liquid Glass then used Zoya Matte Topcoat.
