A Zoya A Day - Sari

Hi Friends

Today I'm sharing my manicure and review of the lovely Sari.

Brush used - Z Wide
Name - Sari
Year - 2008
Number - ZP0276
Does it stamp - No
Coats - 2/3
Finish - Cream
Collection - Purity
Colour - Nude

Sari can be described as a sheer, peach milk nude.

I swatched out the brush for this polish, Sari has a good formula, no running or pooling, just sheer as she is a French manicure polish. I did three coats on my left hand and two on my right to show this might get to full opacity at four coats.

Amanda is gorgeous, a lovely pale biscuit toned nude, Amanda has a great formula, no running or pooling and I did one sweet coat for my swatch. Amanda also stamps well.

I was being used as a cat bed on Sunday morning, I managed to get a pic of both cats crashed out on me as I was used as a pillow.

A Zoya A Day - Crystal

Hi Friends

Today on the blog I'm sharing my swatch and review of the stunning Crystal.

Available on the website - Yes
Brush used - Original
Does it stamp - Yes
Name - Crystal (2)
Year - 2023
Number - ZP1174
Coats - 1
Finish - Cream
Collection - Toasty
Colour - Grey/Taupe/Nude
Topcoat - No

Crystal can be described as a greyed, muted grey mulberry with warm undertones in a full coverage cream formula.

So Crystal to me is not a grey, I'll show it next to Abigail and Dove, its got a much more pink undertone.  Crystal has a great formula, no running or pooling and opaque in one sweet coat, she also stamps well.

The original Crystal was realised in 2010 in the Fire and Ice collection, I all of them except Gloria who is discontinued.

Yesterday I was supposed to get my botox for migraine treatment but I explained that the last round hadnt been as effective as the others so we've decided to try the new CGRP meds that are available for chronic migraine warriors.  I've got some reading to do and then make a decision as to which to try first.  Last pic is Mr Handsome sitting in the window spying on the neighbours this morning :).

Zoya Toasty Collection - Bottle and Swatch Stick Comparisons

Hi Friends

Today I'm sharing my comparisons for the Toasty collection for spring 2023, this is a six piece collection of all creams and their names are as follows, Abigail, Crystal (a reuse of a name), Elowen, Hattie, Ora and Rae.

This was a strange combination of colours for a spring collection and we also have dupe colours.

As always, new polish is first left, pictures are taken in natural daylight and I do not colour correct, only crop and add my watermark. So lets take a look. Comparisons after the promo artwork. Be warned there a lot of pictures in this post and I have thoughts on this collection.

First up left to right we have Abigail, Dove and Carey, no dupes, Abigail has a peachy brown undertone compared to Dove and Carey.

Left to right Crystal, Rowan and Eastyn, so they describe Crystal as a greyed, muted grey mulberry with warm undertones in a full coverage cream formula. Er except it isnt a grey, the blanket the polishes are sat on is grey, Rowan is described as a taupe cream, Eastyn is discontinued but was described as a greige purple if I remember correctly.

This is all my Zoya greys and look how pink nude Crystal looks.

This is the new Crystal with the original gorgeous Crystal.

Left to right Rae, Joss, Hattie and Meadow. no dupes, this was interesting, I was sure I'd have more to match, Rae has a very peachy undertone and matches Meadow more than Joss although Meadow has that golden shimmer, you can also see how close Rae and Hattie are, I dont think these two should have been in the same collection.

Left is Elowen and right is Dagmar and here is were I'm kinda disappointed, these are incredibility close if not direct dupes. When I do my wear review I'm going to wear both together and see if I can see any differences.

Left is Ora and right is Gabi, again almost dupes, theres maybe a hint more blue undertone in Ora than Gabi but unless you are a collector or obsessed with nail polish you arnt going to notice the difference in these two, or need both.

I also got my order of the Daydreaming collection, plus free Z Wide brushes and another bottle of Qtica Nail Growth Stimulator.

The garden is starting to finally burst into life as well, I had to cut back my Alpina Helsingborg clematis as the wire holding it up had pulled the post being used for it over, thankfully I didnt kill it and its sprouting back nicely and we've got lovely new trellis for it to climb on.  The spiky thing in the bed is actually Crocosmia Lucifer from my mums garden.

This bed has a Japanese anemone in the left corner in white, plus I have more Crocosmia and a red hot poker in yellow and my favourite allium Nectaroscordum Siculum aka Sicilian Honey Garlic, pic below of them when in flower.

Sicilian Honey Garlic in flower, so funky.

My Queen of the Night tulips are really stunning this year.

So what are your thoughts on this collection, for me it doesnt quite hit the mark, I really like the tones of Rae and Hattie plus I love a grey polish but I'm not sure we needed Ora and Elowen and they arnt spring shades for me. I'm also very disappointed at how close in tone they are to two very recent colours they'd already released.

Parker can best be described as a warm greige.

Zoya's colour descriptions get stranger by the day, Evan is a gorgeous tan with a yellow undertone, great formula, no running or pooling and opaque in one sweet coat, Evan also stamps well.

Parker, a reuse of the name, originally a Spa Essentials colour from 2006, the new one is a warm light brown, I dont see any grey in this to make me think greige though, great formula, no running or pooling and opaque in one sweet coat, Parker also stamps well.

Life update:- My eyes have healed up amazingly well, my left eye with the minus 22 lens in, I can see quite well out of this eye now, no more frosted glass window view. My right eye has a minus 1 lens in, they worked with the shape of my eye and its like I have a whole new eye, I can see much further than I used to, my focal focus length has gone from the tip of my nose to me having to stretch out my arm to see my nails in focus, I do have to use a pair of reading glasses at plus 3 to use my phone, I can read my kindle without glasses now, being able to sit on our sofa and clearly see the tv is still a thrill as is getting up in the middle of the night and not scrabbling around for glasses. I am so lucky I was able to have this done on the NHS, it truly has been life changing.

The cats were being crazy last night, pics at the end.

Name - Sutton
Year - 2022

Coats - 2
Finish - Cream

Colour - Nude

Sutton is a muted pinky-nude cream.

Chelsea is gorgeous, a super pale milky pink, I switched out the brush to the z wide, good formula, no running or pooling, the first coat was streaky but the second smoothed everything out well.

Sutton is so pretty, its a very pale nude, this has a great formula, no running or pooling and opaque in two coats, I switched out the brush on this one as well.

You're going to have to go by the bottle shots and the LED shots, my swatch pics are really not colour accurate, not sure what was going on this morning, its quite bright and sunny, the sunlight pics are way off, the pics under my LED look ok, ignore my thumbs shots, also anyone else with a thumb nail that just glows way faster than any other nail?

Sutton stamps but my pic is awful. Clearly I need to work on picture taking again.
