Yves by Zoya can be best described as a deep sapphire that's midway in between indigo and royal blue with a blue pearl fleck in the traditional Matte Velvet finish.

Elliot's description is spot on, a deep teal blue reminiscent of a peacock tail, great formula, no running or pooling and opaque in one sweet coat, Elliot also stamps. I have one coat of matte topcoat on my middle nail.

Yves is gorgeous, I love the deep inkiness of this but you can still tell its a blue, great formula, no running or pooling and opaque in one coat, Yves does stamp but you gotta work fast! As with a lot of mattes Yves dries fast. I've also swapped out the brush to the z wide on this after doing the mani, I switched out the brushes on all the matte velvets. There is also a coat of topcoat on my middle nail.

I wish Zoya would do more matte velvet polishes.

Savita is a discontinued polish and can be described as royal purple matte nail polish with pink and purple shimmer.

Payton is utterly stunning, the classic scattered holo polish, great formula, no running or pooling and opaque in just one coat, this also stamps but likely best over a pale base.

Savita in epic, I do love the matte velvet polishes, I wish they would fo more of these in different colours, great formula, no running or pooling and opaque in one sweet coat, this also stamps but again best over a pale base, I'm an eejit I didnt put topcoat on a nail so you could see that.

Last photos are of my weekend mani, left hand has Celestia and right hand has Polaris, I then stamped with Mila, then decided to layer Celestia over Polaris and vis versa, then a coat of Eradani over my pointer fingers, my original base was two coats each before stamping.  These are glitter polishes, so I have used my Unt Peel Off basecoat, they feel like the pixie dust texture but I didnt want to be scrubbing for days trying to get these off. The stamping plate is Whats Up Nails B047, and yes I know the stamping is crooked, thats what happens when you can only see out of one eye and have no depth perception.

Teresa can best be described as a deep purple toned ruby metallic.

Two more stunners, Harlow is one of the original matte velvets, this dries very fast so you cant take time to work it, these polishes were re-released in 2014 with a slightly better formula but not as much sparkle. Harlow has a good formula, no running or pooling and opaque in one coat but I did two because it showed up my ridges, Harlow does stamp but not onto paper.

Teresa is such an interesting colour, its a dusty mauve toned purple with a golden/pink shimmer, great formula, no running or pooling and opaque in one coat, Teresa also stamps.

Posh is a discontinued polish but can be described as a medium cool-toned wine red with metallic red shimmer and a velvety Matte Velvet finish.

Two more stunning polishes, Divincia is gorgeous, vampy, super shiny, chic, great formula, no running or pooling and opaque in one coat, she also stamps nicely.

Posh is stunning, I really like this colour and finish, great formula, no running or pooling, it dries quite fast, she is opaque in one coat and she does stamp but you gotta work fast! I love the frosted bottle and matte cap these bottles have. While the matte velvets were originally released in 2009 they were re-released in 2014 but the formula was slightly different, my Posh is from 2014.

A Zoya A Day - Sue

 Hey friends

Happy Friday, sadly I'm still struggling with pain, the diazepam only worked for a very short time so I've been given baclofen to see if we can stop my neck and shoulders from seizing and causing the pain. The other issue is that for someone with chronic migraine if we take too many painkillers, now I'm not talking about taking 3 or more cocodamol once or twice, but if say I took two cocodamol every day for five days I could go into whats known as a medication overuse headache also known as a rebound headache, which doesnt sound so bad, however, what that means is that when I do then take more painkillers they actually make the pain worse, in order to break that cycle I'd have to go cold turkey without any kind of pain med not even ibuprofen or aspirin for probably a month or more, for someone with chronic migraine that is my worse nightmare because most days I am in pain, be it migraine or arthritis.

Sue by Zoya can be best described as a soft champagne gold with a multi-hued oyster shell pearl fleck in the traditional Matte Velvet finish.

This polish is stunning, its one of my fav golden neutrals as you can wear it matte or pop a topcoat on and it brings out the tiny sparkles.

Great formula, no running or pooling, probably I should have put a third coat on but sadly I cannot bend my head anymore today.

The last photo shows topcoat over my middle fingers and a close up shot of my thumb without topcoat which I hope shows off all that sparkle, so pretty.

Aspen can be described as a sparkling arctic white with a micronized diamond pearl fleck in the traditional Matte Velvet finish. This is stunning, its like freshly fallen snow with the sun shining on it.

I love this, I did three coats but you probably could get away with two, great formula no running or pooling. This does stamp but I used too light a colour doh!

We've had Ellie for almost 6 months now and I think we can safety say that shes settled in nicely :) look at that grooting! Shes started to get vocal as well. Her and Obi are getting on great, they love to play and Obi will trill call her to chase him.

Today on my blog I have the stunning Yves for you.

This is a deep dark inky blue in Zoya's matte velvet finish.  I did three coats which were super easy as it dries quite quickly. I could have gotten away with two but I wanted my nails to be super deep dark blue.

I then decided to so some minimalist snow flakes, I used my clear jelly stamper big bling stamper and a El Corazon plate and I did alternate fingers wikth snow flakes and then trees on my thumbs.  I never know whether to do the trees with the stumps facing my or away though lol I then used Love Angelina top coat on the stamping and the Matte Velvet topcoat on the rest.

The clean up was a bugger though and I'm going to have to be very careful when taking this off or I'll end up with smurf fingers!

Zoya Edyta and Loredana

Today on the blog I have two very unusual shades.

Loredana is one of the original Matte Velvets that Zoya came out with in 2009, this would have been an easy one coater but this polish dries so fast that I mucked up the application, both this and Harlow dry very fast and you have to load up your brush and float the coat on with as little brush strokes as possible.

Edyta now this is very strange, I do not know how Zoya manage to do this but its another weird chameleon shade it looks brown, grey, green and gold all at the same time. This was a very good formula opaque in 2 coats.  Edyta came from the 2010 Wicked collection for fall.
